About Us

Active in NE Iowa Since 2008

In response to a 2008 federal immigration raid in Postville Iowa, NEIPJC stepped forward with other groups to support and protect the rights of vulnerable people in our region. Since then, the Center has branched out to become a resource for information, networking, advocacy and action around issues related to peace, justice and environmental protection.

Over time community members have formed “Working Groups” around particular issues. Some, such as the Immigration Working Group and Democracy Preservation Discussion are ongoing. Others have included Gun Sense and Personal Pronoun Education.
