Virtual Pronouns 101
June 28 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
The Northeast Iowa Peace & Justice Center Pronoun Education Project is back! We were able to complete one in-person Pronouns 101 workshop at the Decorah Public Library before quarantine. Now we want to bring the education online with an intersectional lens. Pronouns 101 aims to educate people on pronouns, gender identity, and gender-inclusive spaces.
During this crisis of anti-blackness and police violence, we want to shed light on how Black Trans lives have been affected. We owe Pride Month to Black Trans leaders like Marsha P. Johnson and their involvement with the Stonewall Riots. Free-will donations will be accepted in support of the Marsha P. Johnson Institute.
Learning about pronouns and gender identity is one of the many ways we can be active allies for gender minorities. Pronouns 101 will be a safe space to ask intentional questions without judgement, and learn with others who may also be struggling with the concept of personal pronouns and gender identity. All are welcome. Whether you know a little or a lot about this topic, it’s important to show your support for gender minorities.
